Loch’s interests lies primarily in the theory and practice of political ecology, with a focus on global human-environmental systems and the use of emerging technologies in environmental and geographic education. His courses examine a wide range of human-environment dynamics, and seek to engage with questions of socio-natural sustainability from an interdisciplinary perspective and at multiple temporal and spatial scales. Taught subjects currently span Sustainability, Political Ecology, Environmental Thought, Global Environmental and Social Trending, Environmental Management and Impact Assessment, Agriculture and Agro-food systems, and Natural Hazards.
